The Diplomatic Informer Magazine’s interview with His Excellency, Ambassador Salman Al-Farisi of The Republic of Indonesia to South Africa, Kingdom of Lesotho, Kingdom of Eswatini and The Republic of Botswana, at the business lunch with William Wongso at Sandton Sun, Johannesburg on 8 April 2019.

His Excellency, Ambassador Salman Al-Farisi, said the main purpose of the event was not only to introduce Indonesia through delicious and authentic Indonesian cuisines, but also to create business networks and enhance Indonesian and South African trade and investment cooperation.

"In 2018, the total trade between Indonesia and South Africa showed a significant increase by 43.34%".

Indonesia and South Africa are supporting each other’s economy by complementing the needs of mostly mining products that are needed to support the infrastructure projects in Indonesia.

"We still have more potential yet to be explored: pharmaceutical industry, textile, manufactured products, to strategic industries such as weaponry, railway and airplane".
