EMBASSY OF KAZAKHSTAN IN PRETORIA

28 May 2021 Ambassador Kanat Tumysh of Kazakhstan met in the capital of South Africa with a citizen of the United Republic of Tanzania (URT), famous businessman Ameir Munif Abdullah Nahdi.
This eminent entrepreneur is the Chairman and the Managing Director of the Tanzanian holding OILCOM GROUP.
On 22 April 2021, the Government of Tanzania issued an official document (Consular Exequatur) granting its consent to the appointment of this Tanzanian citizen as the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the URT. Thus, the Honorary Consulate of Kazakhstan is expected to be opened in Tanzania throughout this year.
The parties exchanged their views and professional experience on a number of topics, discussing some issues of common interest. Among them are the preliminary dates for the opening of the Honorary Consulate, assistance to the citizens of Kazakhstan in Tanzania, the establishment of the ‘Tanzania-Kazakhstan Chamber of Commerce’, as well as the ways to strengthen bilateral trade-economic and investment activities, as well as cultural and humanitarian cooperation.
The parties also scrutinized some other aspects of Kazakh-Tanzanian cooperation, in particular, interaction on counterterrorism. At the same time, an agreement was reached to work together to ensure the accession of the Tanzanian side to the Code of Conduct Towards Achieving a World Free of Terrorism, initiated by H.E. Mr. Nursultan Nazarbayev, the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – the Leader of the Nation (Elbasy).
H.E. Major General Salim Milanzi, High Commissioner of Tanzania to South Africa and some other officials also attended the meeting.
