Minister Naledi Pandor on 4 May 2022 received a courtesy call from US Deputy Secretary of State, H.E. Wendy Sherman, at OR Tambo Building, Pretoria.
Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman had warm and productive meetings with South African Minister of International Relations and Cooperation Naledi Pandor and Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation Alvin Botes.
During the meeting Minister Pandor and Deputy Secretary Sherman discussed the importance of the U.S.-South Africa partnership and shared priorities including health, climate, and regional and global peace and security.
Deputy Minister Alvin Botes also met with the US Deputy Secretary of State and the two discussed the growing partnership on mutual areas of interest, including trade, investment, and infrastructure.
Bilateral cooperation between the South Africa and the United States of America is broad and deep and covers areas such as health, education, environment, energy, trade and investment, transport, science and technology and safety and security.
Deputy Secretary Sherman also expressed condolences on the loss of life and destruction as a result of the weather disaster in KwaZulu-Natal in April.
