SOUTH AFRICA OFFICIALLY RELINQUISH ITS ROLE AS CHAIR OF THE AFRICAN UNION TO DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF THE CONGO

President Cyril Ramaphosa hands over the African Union Chairship at the virtual 34th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government to President Felix Tshisekedi of the Democratic Republic of
Congo.

President Cyril Ramaphosa did a sterling job in very difficult circumstances, and we are confident that President Tsheskedi will lead with effectiveness and wisdom.

The 34th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of State and Govenrment is held under the theme “Arts, Culture and Heritage: Levers for Building the Africa We Want”.

Congratulations to H.E Félix Antoine Tshisekedi, President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo for his appointment as president of the African Union.
